NOAA’s Weather Program Office (WPO; formerly OWAQ, the Office of Weather and Air Quality) is accepting proposals for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) from August 19, 2021 through November 17, 2021.

WPO’s FY22 NOFO is soliciting research toward improving weather, water, air quality, fire weather, earth-system modeling and observations, and social, behavioral, and economic science applications. Projects should focus on advancing science and technology from the research stage to transitionable outputs or prototype products that NOAA or external partners could further develop into practical applications and operations. The six grant competitions from this notification are valued at approximately $16.5 million per year.
