Mark is the Weather Program Office (WPO) Observations Program Manager and the OAR Program Manager for the $75M FY18 and FY19 Disaster Supplementals. Prior to his current position. Mark’s experience included roles as: NOAA Program Manager for the Spectrum Efficient National Surveillance Radar (SENSR), NOAA Performance Director; Deputy Director of OAR PPE; Program Manager of NOS’ National Operational Coastal Modeling Program; and an assignment at the Executive Office of the President Office of Science and Technology Policy.

Mark is the recipient of the DOC Gold Medal for transitioning NOAA’s first ecological forecasting system (HABS) to operations; DOC Silver Medal for developing and implementing an analysis of NOAA’s observation portfolio; and two bronze medals and an Administrator’s award for transitioning models to NOAA’s operational high performance computing environment. His education includes a PhD in Engineering, M.S. in Engineering, and an MBA.
