Policy & Partnerships Manager

Tamara is the Policy and Partnerships Manager for the Weather Program Office (WPO), and is the lead for coordinating and overseeing various aspects of the Weather Research and Forecasting Innovation Act of 2017 (the “Weather Act”) and other weather policy topics for WPO and the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR). Previously, Tamara was the Weather Act Policy Coordinator (contractor) for WPO, collaborating with researchers and subject matter experts across NOAA to develop congressional reports required by the Weather Act, and briefing NOAA leadership on related activities and accomplishments within OAR.

Prior to NOAA, Tamara spent five years at the National Science Foundation (NSF) as a Science Assistant with the Division of Graduate Education (DGE) Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP), and Science Analyst within the Division for Chemical, Bioengineering, Environmental and Transport Systems (CBET) assisting with data analytics and science communication. Tamara has a B.S. in Environmental Science from Medgar Evers College, CUNY, M.A. in Geology from The City College of New York, CUNY, and M.S. in Atmospheric Sciences from Howard University. Currently, Tamara is a doctoral candidate at Morgan State University, where she is completing her studies in Environmental Engineering.
