About the WPO Virtual Partners Meeting
The NOAA Weather Program Office's Partners Meeting plans to bring together academia, other Federal agencies, Principle/Principal Investigators (PIs), other NOAA line offices, and the greater research enterprise and serve as an important platform to learn about and discuss:
- WPOs priorities;
- Collaboration with the goal of ensuring awareness and alignment for continued strategic planning; and
- WPOs initiatives for FY21-25 including but not limited to: Notice of Funding Opportunities, Partnership Building, and Diversity & Inclusion.

Who are our PIs?
Grant recipient in the last 3 years.
What is the difference between the two?
All PIs are partners, but not all partners are PIs. PIs receive money in the form of contract, grant or cooperative agreement. Partners are entities such as NSF, ESPC and NCAR.
What is the purpose of the meeting?
NOAA’s Weather Program Office (WPO) will bring together academia, other Federal agencies, Private Investigators (PIs), other NOAA line offices, and the greater research enterprise for this much-anticipated event that will provide an important platform to learn about and discuss WPOs priorities, dependencies, and initiatives for FY21-25.
You will also hear from an award-winning team of scientific and technical program managers that have spearheaded innovative programs and leadership in atmospheric science.
This meeting will be an excellent opportunity for WPO's partners and customers to collaborate with the goal of ensuring awareness and alignment for continued strategic planning in alignment with our mission and vision.
What is the expected outcome, goals, objectives?
WPO is giving the weather community an opportunity to form our priorities for FY21 in alignment with NOAA and OAR’s goals and objectives.
