The Weather Program Office welcomes two William M. Lapenta Interns this summer.
Claire Miller, a senior at Middlebury College, continues ongoing work to refine the application process for WPO funding competitions. Claire will conduct focus groups and analyze applicant surveys, providing recommendations to further improve how WPO receives proposals for innovative and relevant research.
Rowin Smith, a junior at Colgate University, will work with the Earth Prediction Innovation Center (EPIC) to create and document a technical test case of the Unified Forecast System (UFS). Rowan will also serve as a student ambassador for the UFS in an effort to help get more students involved.
