Short Description: This project addresses gaps in understanding operational workflows, forecast product usage, and real-time responses to extreme weather as it approaches. The research team will compare product development across two National Weather Service (NWS) National Centers for Environmental Prediction (Weather Prediction Center and National Hurricane Center) and use longitudinal surveys and social network analysis to study perceptions, decision-making, information flow, interpretation of NWS products, and behaviors within vulnerable communities.
