Registration for the Advancing Understanding of Land-Atmosphere Interactions and Processes on S2S Predictability workshop is open through 5 p.m. MDT on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. The hybrid workshop will be held at NSF NCAR in Boulder, Colorado and remotely from June 16–18, 2025, and is cohosted with WPO’s Subseasonal-to-Seasonal Program.
From NSF NCAR: This workshop is intended to be highly interactive and collaborative, focusing on the role of land-atmosphere interactions on predictability at subseasonal-to-seasonal (S2S) timescales (defined here as two weeks to three months) and identifying strategies to advance the state of the science. Expected workshop outcomes include:
- Identification of process-oriented and operational verification metrics to assess model performance that can be universally applied across S2S models.
- Development of experimental protocols for coordinated experiments designed to advance understanding of land-atmosphere processes and their role in predictability.
