Abigail Arnold
Research-to-Applications (R2X) Coordinator
Abigail Arnold is a FedWriters, Inc. contractor supporting the Weather Program Office in the Observations and Transition Support Division as a R2X Data Analyst.
Prior to joining WPO in October 2024, Abigail was a contractor supporting OAR’s Office of Research, Transition, and Application (ORTA). While in ORTA, Abigail worked in transition support and served as the coordinator for the Testbed and Proving Ground Coordinating Committee. She brings extensive experience working with teams to develop and transition their innovations and aims to streamline processes to maximize efficiencies for the agency.
Abigail earned her B.S. in Atmospheric Sciences and B.J. in Journalism from the University of Missouri. She was a NOAA Hollings scholar and worked as a broadcast meteorologist for more than a decade in Springfield, Missouri before joining NOAA in 2022. She also served as the regional coordinator for the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, and Snow Network for Southwestern Missouri. Past awards and certifications include the American Meteorological Society (AMS) Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal of Approval and four Mid-America Emmy awards.”
