Vincent Fortin is a senior scientist in hydrological forecasting research at Environment and Climate Change Canada. He has twenty years of experience in hydrological forecasting research aimed at implementing operational forecasting systems for various components of the water cycle using an Earth system modelling approach. He is also involved in the development of continental-scale surface analyses and reanalyses. He has contributed to multiple hydrological studies initiated by the International Joint Commission, which approves projects that affect water level across the Canada-US boundary, and is a member of the World Meteorological Organization’s Expert Team on Operational Hydrological Prediction Systems.
