Portfolio Analysis and Research Transitions (PART) Program Manager
Isha Renta is WPO’s Portfolio Analysis and Research Transitions Program Manager. Prior to joining WPO, Isha was a Management and Program Analyst at the OAR Office of Science Support. While there, she served as the advisor to the NOAA Chief Scientist during a temporary assignment. Prior to this Isha was a Meteorologist for the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington Office and a Research Meteorologist at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Dahlgren, VA. Before her work at Dahlgren, Isha interned at various organizations including the National Science Foundation, AOML’s Hurricane Research Division, and NCEP’s Environmental Modeling Center. Isha has a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez and a Master’s Degree in Atmospheric Sciences from Howard University.
In her time outside of work she directs the Puerto Rican cultural non-profit, Semilla Cultural, she enjoys science outreach activities, and most recently Isha released her first children’s book Sofía and her bomba drum, which is also available in Spanish.
