
Justin Bickett
Observations Program Coordinator
Justin Bickett is an oceanography and program coordination professional based in Washington, DC. Most recently, he worked as contractor for NOAA’s Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services (CO-OPS) as an Oceanographic Technology Specialist, where he was instrumental in coordinating and planning for the 2002-2020 National Tidal Datum Epoch (NTDE) Update.
Prior to this, Justin served as the Observations Deputy Program Manager within OAR’s Weather Program Office. Earlier in his career with NOAA, he contributed as a CO-OPS contractor to both the Continuous Operational Real-Time Monitoring System (CORMS) team and the Data Processing Team (DPT), monitoring oceanographic data in real-time as well as processing and analyzing historical data. He also has over five years of in-the-field expertise as a marine technician by deploying and maintaining oceanographic equipment, surveying currents, conducting sediment and water sampling operations, and supporting offshore projects for dredging, energy, and maritime industries.
Justin holds an AAS in Marine Technology from Cape Fear Community College, as well as a BS in Communication with a focus in Public Relations from East Carolina University.
When not at work, Justin spends his time biking, running, swimming, practicing yoga, reading, and attending concerts.
