Metrics, Post-processing, and Products for Subseasonal to Seasonal (S2S) Workshop
The Office of Weather & Air Quality’s National Earth System Prediction Capability (ESPC) interagency collaboration convened from February 28th – March 1st, 2018 in College Park, MD. During this meeting there was a broad discussion focused on highlighting user needs, agency capabilities and products, gaps between needs and capabilities, and potential operational and technological solutions to address those gaps, especially in defining and refining postprocessing solutions.
Derived from the Metrics, Post-processing, and Products for Subseasonal to Seasonal (S2S) Workshop, “Bridging the Gap Between Climate and Weather” by Scott Sandgathe, Jessie Carman, Bradford Johnson and Eileen McIlvain, summarizes the workshop and the challenges and recommendations for successful S2S prediction. The article can be found in the latest Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society.
