The American Meteorological Society offers more than 30 distinguished awards highlighting the contributions of individuals, teams, and organizations toward advancing the weather, water, and climate community. I would like to invite and encourage all of you to consider nominating colleagues within NOAA and across the AMS community who you feel are deserving of these honors.
These awards are offered in a number of sub-components of our field including:
- Science and Technology
- Outstanding Contributions and Service
- Teaching and Mentorship
- Broadcasting
- Early-Career Awards
- Forecasting

What is an Award Citation? In 25 words or less, the citation should reflect the nominee’s accomplishments, as it relates to his nomination for that particular award. It generally sums up what is in the nomination letter. For citation examples, click here.
