Town Hall Title: The Weather Enterprise: Transitioning Weather Research Into Operations to Save Lives, Reduce Property Damage, and Enhance the National Economy
Date: Wednesday, December 15, 2021
Time: 18:15 – 19:15 CST
The NOAA Weather Program Office (WPO) will provide an overview of the office, our coordination with internal NOAA line offices and external partners (including the broadcast community, the research community and operational meteorologists) and focus on how we select, fund and foster research that impacts tropical cyclones, severe storms, extreme precipitation, air pollution, and social science through our 11 programmatic areas. In particular, WPO would like to start a conversation to understand how we can strengthen the relationships within the weather enterprise and with the non-scientific community through collaborative outreach efforts.
