

NOAA’s Office of Weather and Air Quality will be holding a Social and Behavioral Science (SBS) Research to Operations workshop in Silver Spring, MD from September 4 – 6, 2019. The overall goal of the workshop it to foster lively and interactive discussion toward developing the how-to’s of transitioning different types of SBS finding and help build relationships between the National Weather Service (NWS) and the SBS research community.
By fostering interactive discussion between the NWS and the SBS research community, OWAQ aims to:
- Collectively create tangible best practices and considerations for how to transition different types of SBS research into the NWS.
- Foster early partnerships and collaboration between the SBS research community and those within the NWS.
- Develop new ways to transition SBS research.
- Empower SBS researchers and NWS operations on how to transition SBS research findings.
